Most of the cockroaches we treat are of this variety. They like where people live and the food people eat. They reproduce exceedingly well at the temperatures we keep our houses.
Understand that roaches are dangerous to humans and pets. They can carry diseases. They also can carry botulism from one food surface to another. Of greatest concern…their feces and cast-off-skins can cause permanent damage to the lungs of growing children and pets.
CLEAN food preparation areas with soap and water.
TIDY the kitchen by removing excess bags, boxes and food scraps.
MOP floors and vacuum carpets.
DO NOT USE ANY PESTICIDES.
CLEAN FOOD PREP SURFACES DAILY with soap and water. (Please, do not use bleach until the roaches are completely gone.)
CONTINUE TO ELIMINATE HARBORAGES, like scrap paper, cardboard boxes, and plastic bags.
DO NOT USE ANY PESTICIDES or over-the-counter BAITS. (Our treatment works best when it works alone.)
IF any live roaches remain three (3) weeks following the initial treatment call our office to schedule a follow-up treatment.
REMOVE ALL DISHES from cupboards and wash them.
REMOVE FOOD PRODUCTS from cupboards and inspect for roach droppings or dead insects. Washable surfaces should be cleaned (see #3 below). Products which have roach dropping inside the container should be discarded.
WASH CUPBOARDS AND OTHER SURFACES which have roach droppings with soapy water to which you have added 1 or 2 Tbsp. of bleach/gal of water. Remember to rinse surfaces with clear water.
